The British Columbia Association of Clinical Counselors had been searching for new association management software for three years when the association learned of and ultimately selected Fonteva's innovative solution, MemberNation. The package the association had been using was increasingly disappointing, but it was difficult to find a new solution that offered all the needed functionality.
BCACC had some very specific requirements. In addition to having a cloud-based system with world-class customer relationship management, BCACC wanted its members to be able to engage with the organization easily and collaborate via a private social network.
Fonteva worked with BCACC on extensive customization of MemberNation, especially functionality around membership applications and credentialing. BCACC leveraged MemberNation's membership management module to make it easier for new members to apply for memberships using its online application. Once they are in the database, it's easy for members to upload their credentialing documents and track continuing professional education activities.
BCACC also serves a clearinghouse for members of the public in search of counselors. These searches were once performed manually. Now, members select and assign themselves attributes using the private member portal in MemberNation so that potential clients can drill down in a "find a counsellor" search using BCACC's website. Further, MemberNation tracks referrals, and members can view reports detailing often they appeared in a search. Fonteva built out this functionality to help BCACC demonstrate the value of membership and encourage members to keep their information updated.
