Fonteva Ranked on Inc. 5000 Regionals List for DC Metro Area

Inc. 5000 DC Region

Arlington, VA – March 27, 2021

Fonteva secured a spot on the Inc. 5000 Regionals list of the fastest-growing private companies in the Washington, DC Metro. For 2021 Fonteva is ranked at No. 146 of the 250 companies to be recognized in the region. Born of the annual Inc. 5000 franchise, this regional list represents a unique look at the most successful companies within the D.C. area economy’s most dynamic segment — its independent small businesses.

“Being on the Inc. 5000 Regionals list for 2021 is quite an honor,” said Paul Lundy, Chief Customer Officer for Fonteva. “We’re proud to have been proven one of the fastest-growing private companies in the DC area, particularly as a technology company. I believe this a testimony both to the dedicated team of professionals we have in all areas of the company and to the outstanding, mission-driven clients we have the privilege of serving each and every day.”

The companies on this list show stunning rates of growth across all industries in the Washington, D.C., region. Between 2017 and 2019, these 250 private companies had an average growth rate of 211 percent and, in 2019 alone, they employed more than 120,000 people and added nearly $15 billion to the D.C. area economy. Companies based in major metro areas—Baltimore, Maryland; the Washington, D.C. area; and Richmond, Virginia—brought in the highest revenue overall.

More about Inc. and the Inc. 5000

Methodology

Companies on the 2021 Inc. 5000 are ranked according to percentage revenue growth from 2017 to 2020. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2017. They must be U.S.-based, privately held, for-profit, and independent—not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies—as of December 31, 2020. (Since then, some on the list may have gone public or been acquired.) The minimum revenue required for 2017 is $100,000; the minimum for 2020 is $2 million. As always, Inc. reserves the right to decline applicants for subjective reasons. Growth rates used to determine company rankings were calculated to three decimal places. There was one tie on this year’s Inc. 5000. Companies on the Inc. 500 are featured in Inc.’s September issue. They represent the top tier of the Inc. 5000, which can be found at http://www.inc.com/inc5000.
